The city party stated, "The Korean War was the most horrific and tragic event in the history of the Korean Peninsula," adding, "Countless victims occurred, and even after 73 years, the Korean Peninsula continues to suffer from the pain of division."

They continued, "The late President Kim Dae-jung led the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, which laid the foundation for transforming the confrontation between the North and South into a relationship of reconciliation and cooperation, and the late President Roh Moo-hyun established a peace regime on the Korean Peninsula and promoted balanced development between the North and South, culminating in the October 4, 2007 North-South Summit Declaration," while emphasizing, "Former President Moon Jae-in made every effort for peace, achieving the Panmunjom Declaration and the Pyongyang Joint Declaration."

They also stated, "Efforts for peaceful cooperation between the North and South must be based on firm security, and continuous growth of defense capabilities has been achieved accordingly," but claimed, "However, the Yoon Seok-yeol administration completely denies the previous government's efforts for peace and continues a hardline North Korea policy that provokes conflict."

Furthermore, they added, "Rather than efforts to maintain peace, the administration's remarks provoke conflict and threaten peace, pushing Northeast Asia into a crisis on the brink of war," and "Deterring war is the highest form of security, and leading peace and reconciliation based on security is the desirable path for peace on the Korean Peninsula."
