This Year’s ‘Pohang Mayor’s Cup National Jet Ski Championship’ Concludes Successfully

On the 25th, Pohang City successfully concluded the '2023 Pohang Mayor's National Jet Ski Championship' held at Yeongildae Beach.

The National Jet Ski Championship is sponsored by Pohang City, the Pohang City Council, and the Pohang City Sports Council, and hosted and organized by the Pohang Jet Ski Association (President Park Jang-hoon). The thrilling races, cutting through the waves at high speeds, provided unique sights and excitement to tourists visiting Yeongildae Beach.

About 100 athletes from across the country participated in the event, which featured five categories: 1100 (Spark), Novice, Limited, Pro GP, and Andrew (long-distance). The participants showcased their honed skills while cutting through the waves of Pohang's Yeongil Bay.

Yoo Ho-sung, Director of the Marine and Port Department, stated, “This National Jet Ski Championship has been an opportunity to further elevate Pohang’s status as a ‘Marine Sports Cultural Tourism City’ and a ‘Mecca of Marine Leisure Sports.’ We ask for the continued interest and participation of many citizens to promote marine leisure sports in the future.”
