National Team Taekwondo Competition Held in Gumi

53rd Prestigious and Traditional Korea Taekwondo Association President's Cup

Held from June 26 to July 4 at Park Jeonghee Gymnasium

Gumi City, Gyeongbuk Province, will host the 53rd Korea Taekwondo Association President's National Team Competition Taekwondo Tournament at the Park Chung-hee Gymnasium for nine days from the 26th to the 4th of next month.

Hosted by the Korea Taekwondo Association (President Yang Jin-bang) and co-organized by the Gyeongbuk Taekwondo Association (President Lee Seong-woo) and the Gumi City Taekwondo Association (President Kang Si-jong), this tournament will feature over 3,000 athletes and officials from across the country competing fiercely in the middle school, high school, university, and general divisions.

Mayor Kim Jang-ho stated, “We are honored to hold the most prestigious event in the Taekwondo community in the advanced industrial city of Gumi, and we wish the Taekwondo teams from all over the country great performances and success.” He added, “We also ask for much encouragement and interest in the ‘2025 Gumi Asia Athletics Championships,’ which will be held in Korea for the first time in 20 years.”

The Korea Taekwondo Association President's National Team Competition Taekwondo Tournament, now in its 53rd edition, is a prestigious and traditional event, serving as a grand festival for Taekwondo practitioners nationwide and a cradle for discovering promising talents.

The city expects that this tournament will not only expand the base of Taekwondo but also greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
