On the 15th and 22nd of last month, Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province held the Uljin-gun Good Morning Thursday Special Lectures twice at the county office's large conference room, with a total of about 150 participants including county officials and residents.
The Uljin-gun Good Morning Thursday Special Lectures select one topic each month and invite experts from various fields to study on Thursday mornings. The sessions are held from 7:20 a.m. for 90 minutes and are open to residents, public officials, and public employees alike.
On the 15th, Kim Jae-heum, former director of the National Civil Defense Disaster Safety Education Center, gave a lecture titled "Understanding the National Disaster Management System and Major Policies," covering key policies and action guidelines in the event of a disaster.
On the 22nd, Kim Kwan-hoon, CEO of the tteokbokki franchise "Dookki," delivered a lecture titled "Have You Ever Written Your Stories?" He introduced the spirit of challenge, motivation, and self-development strategies based on the founding story of Dookki Tteokbokki.
Son Byung-bok, the county governor who attended the lecture on the 22nd, said, "Even if it is not a big goal like starting a business, I hope people can gain the courage to challenge themselves with concrete goals for things they have always wanted to achieve." He added, "We will continue to expand support measures that help young people develop their abilities and participate in social activities, so that we can think about, empathize with, and move forward together on youth issues."
The Good Morning Thursday Special Lectures scheduled for July 6 and 13 will feature Professor Kim Jun-woo of Daegu University speaking on "Uljin Nuclear Hydrogen National Industrial Complex and Strategies to Address Local Extinction Risks," and Professor Choi Jong-ho of Kyungil University presenting on "Hydrogen Mobility: Present and Future."
