Guro-gu Delegation Visits Sister City Issy-les-Moulineaux, France
The Guro-gu delegation and cultural envoy completed their official visit to Issy-les-Moulineaux, France, after a 4-night, 6-day trip starting on the 19th, returning on the 24th.
This visit was arranged at the invitation of the sister city Issy-les-Moulineaux to commemorate the French Music Festival Day on June 21.
The delegation, including Guro-gu Mayor Moon Heon-il, district office staff, and performers, worked to broaden mutual understanding and friendly relations between the two countries.
Key activities included visiting a market where old buildings are repurposed as food and beverage food markets to modernize traditional market facilities and revitalize the international food culture street in Guro-gu.
Additionally, as a leading advanced industrial city, Guro-gu inspected residential, commercial, and administrative complex towns, as well as multimedia libraries in France to benchmark excellent cases.
They also toured major facilities such as ecological parks, sports facilities, youth centers, and welfare facilities, focusing on policy planning to strengthen Guro-gu’s urban competitiveness.
Mayor Moon discussed ways to expand intercity cooperation through meetings with Mayor Andr? Santini and key officials.
On Music Festival Day, various performances including those by the Guro-gu cultural envoy were held, providing a time to break down barriers and promote harmony through art.
Meanwhile, on the day of the performance, Issy-les-Moulineaux hosted the ‘2030 Busan World Expo Official Reception.’ Mayor Moon attended the reception with Mayor Andr? Santini to support the promotion of Busan’s World Expo bid.

Guro-gu established a sister city relationship with Issy-les-Moulineaux in 2005 and has conducted mutual youth visit programs since 2008. The district plans to invite French youth on July 12 to carry out a week-long cultural exchange program.
