A man in his 40s who was arrested on the spot for stalking a neighbor living in the same apartment was found during police investigation to have illegally filmed his in-laws and coworkers.

According to Yonhap News on the 24th, the Cheongju Cheongwon Police Station sent Mr. A, a man in his 40s, to prosecution under custody on charges of violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act (filming using a camera, etc.). Mr. A was arrested on the spot in the apartment parking lot on suspicion of stalking a neighbor in the same apartment about 40 times last month and secretly filming this resident.

The police discovered a video on Mr. A’s confiscated mobile phone showing his sister-in-law, Ms. B, who visited his home, undressing. The video was investigated to have been filmed through a home cam closed-circuit television (CCTV) in January. At the time, Mr. A was at work and, upon hearing that Ms. B was coming to his house, he operated the home cam with his mobile phone and downloaded the footage.

Additionally, photos of parts of a female coworker’s body were found on Mr. A’s mobile phone. Mr. A used a method of placing his phone under the office desk to film parts of the body of a coworker sitting opposite him. Furthermore, it was revealed that he had been taking photos of the bodies of unspecified women since 2019.

The police plan to hand over the data to the prosecution as soon as additional crimes are discovered from the forensic examination of his home computer.
