K-Robot Event for Children to See and Experience Robots Directly

Yongsan Children's Garden, 'Let's Play with Robots' Featuring 59 Robots of 22 Types

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 23rd that a children's experience event titled "Robot and Human: Let's Play with Robots," where participants can experience a future world where robots and humans coexist, will be held at Yongsan Children's Garden from the 24th to the 25th.


This event will host a total of about 10,000 participants, including families with children, who applied in advance. A total of 59 robots across 22 different types will be featured in ▲ robot experience activities, ▲ robot cultural performances, and ▲ creative robot competitions.


The robot experience activities are divided into the Robot Exhibition Zone, Robot Play Zone, and Food Tech Zone, offering various robot attractions including companion robots and transforming robots familiar to children. Various hands-on booths such as robot sports games, robot control experiences, and robot making will also be operated for children to directly participate. In the Food Tech Zone, an event will provide snacks made by chicken robots, ice cream robots, and barista robots.


Additionally, the robot cultural performances will include "Robot Magic Lecture Show" by Lee Hyun-jong, CEO of Roboworks, "Robot Busking" featuring performing and dancing robots, and a joint demonstration of quadruped robots. The creative robot competition consists of three categories: coding (upper elementary grades), mission (lower elementary grades), and creation (kindergarten), with a total of 114 family teams participating (32 teams in coding, 32 teams in mission, and 40 teams in creation).


A Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy official stated, "We plan to continue activating various robot experience, promotion, and communication activities to raise awareness of robots and create a robot-friendly environment," adding, "We are scheduled to announce the K-Robot Industry Strategy for the promotion of the robot industry in July."
