Yeongdeok-gun Holds Completion Ceremony for Sangwon-ri Senior Center in Chuksan-myeon

A Platform for Enhancing Resident Welfare and Communication

Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk held a completion ceremony for the newly constructed Sangwon-ri Senior Center in Chuksan-myeon on the 22nd.

The Sangwon-ri Senior Center was designed as a reinforced concrete structure with a total floor area of 130㎡ on the site of the existing senior center, with a total project cost of 400 million KRW. Construction began in May last year and was completed in June this year.


The completion ceremony was attended by about 100 people, including County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol, County Council Chairman Son Deok-su, county council members, Provincial Assemblyman Hwang Jae-cheol, and heads of various institutions and social organizations.


The event started with a progress report by Sangwon-ri Village Chief Jang Se-hwan, followed by congratulatory speeches from key attendees, presentation of appreciation plaques, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a celebratory performance.


Jang Se-hwan, Village Chief of Sangwon-ri, expressed his feelings, saying, “I am very pleased that residents can now unite and foster friendship in a clean and spacious area. I am grateful to Governor Kim and the Yeongdeok County Council for their careful consideration and affection, which made it possible to establish this new home, showing special interest in the development of county administration and the welfare improvement of the elderly.”


Governor Kim Gwang-yeol stated, “The senior center contributes to the welfare of the elderly and serves as a valuable space where residents communicate and harmonize. I hope that the lives of residents will become healthier and happier in this newly built, clean space.”
