The Yeongyang-gun Flea Market Promotion Committee Joins the Pumped Storage Power Plant Attraction Challenge

Successful Hosting of Urban Regeneration Flea Market 'Byeolbyeol Yashijang'

The Urban Regeneration Support Center of Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk (Center Director Bae Jun-hyun) held the summer heat-escaping urban regeneration flea market ‘Byeolbyeol Night Market’ in the yard of Yeongyang Brewery from 4 PM to 9 PM on the 22nd.

This event was planned through the voluntary participation of the ‘Yeongyang-gun Flea Market Promotion Committee,’ formed in 2022 as part of the urban regeneration project, and local residents selling handmade crafts and food.

Additionally, a county-wide participation challenge supporting the attraction of a pumped-storage power plant to Yeongyang-gun was conducted, and banners promoting the pumped-storage power plant attraction were displayed to join in promotional activities.

Not only handmade crafts and food but also two children’s sales teams participated, totaling 13 teams selling keychains made by children themselves, secondhand goods, handmade and woodworking crafts, fresh flowers, dried seafood, tteokbokki, and agricultural and specialty products of Yeongyang-gun.

Lee Jae-seong, chairman of the Flea Market Promotion Committee, said, “It was a meaningful time to hold the flea market ‘Byeolbyeol Night Market’ with residents at Yeongyang Brewery and enliven the quiet nights of Yeongyang,” adding, “We will recruit more sales teams and hold flea markets at other locations within the county in the future.”

Center Director Bae Jun-hyun said, “I am proud and happy to successfully hold the ‘Byeolbyeol Night Market’ following the previous flea market ‘Byeolbyeol Madang,’” and added, “We will continue to promote the urban regeneration project of Yeongyang-gun in various ways.”
