According to the county on the 22nd, the Single-use Products Zero Challenge is a campaign started by the Ministry of Environment in February this year to reduce the use of single-use products in daily life and encourage the use of reusable products. Participants post photos of hand gestures showing “1” and “0” on social networking services (SNS) to pledge to reduce single-use product usage and nominate the next participant.

The county previously placed reusable cups inside government offices to promote the use of reusable products during various meetings, events, and civil service interactions to reduce single-use products and normalize the use of reusable items.

Governor Gang Jong-man said, “Through the ‘Single-use Products Zero Challenge,’ public institutions will take the lead in reducing single-use product usage and increasing the use of reusable products,” adding, “We hope that the residents will actively participate as well.”

Meanwhile, the next participant nominated is Kim Byung-nae, the mayor of Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
