On the 22nd, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will operate a job experience program for elementary and middle school students in the district at Ilgok Library from the 1st to the 9th of next month in celebration of Youth Week.
This program was prepared to help local youth form a proper occupational outlook and find a career path suitable for their aptitude at an early stage through meetings with professional workers.
The job experience will be conducted in the form of special lectures by inviting professionals from five occupations: patissier, perfumer, barista, florist, and special effects makeup artist, providing youth with various information about jobs that are usually difficult to access.
In particular, to increase youth participation and interest, practical sessions such as making whipped cream cakes, making perfume, making chocolate lattes, making flower baskets, and special effects makeup for wounds will be conducted together.
Additionally, during the program period, an exhibition of books related to college entrance and career paths will be held in the comprehensive reference room of Ilgok Library to assist youth in planning their careers.
The number of participants per job experience ranges from 15 to 20 and recruitment is on a first-come, first-served basis. Youth who wish to participate can apply through the Buk-gu Integrated Library website.
A Buk-gu official said, "We hope this job experience will help local youth explore and plan their career paths."
