The first massage chair in Korea equipped with a body composition measurement function has been released. It is Bodyfriend's new product, 'Da Vinci.' On the 22nd, Bodyfriend launched Da Vinci, a home healthcare trainer featuring body composition measurement and customized massage recommendation functions. 'Da Vinci' measures body composition and then recommends the optimal customized massage program based on the analysis results.
Measure Body Composition and Customized Massage
Da Vinci applies BIA technology, a bioelectrical impedance analysis method. Through body composition terminals installed on the palms and soles, it measures and analyzes seven body composition elements: muscle mass, body fat percentage, body mass index (BMI), body water, protein, minerals, and body fat. The measured body composition information is classified according to nine body shape diagnostic criteria.
Body composition and massage records are recorded and stored on an 8.7-inch tablet remote control attached to the massage chair, allowing users to systematically and continuously manage their health according to their individual health status and physical characteristics. Users can be added regardless of the number of accounts, enabling personalized management even when the whole family uses it together. Body composition records are also planned to be linked to mobile devices in the future, similar to 'InBody.'
Based on the measurement results, a self-developed Medical R&D massage algorithm recommends the optimal massage tailored to the user's body shape. Considering the characteristics of the human skin structure, where the fat layer exists above the muscle layer, the 'massage recommendation algorithm' varies the massage stimulation pattern according to the muscle mass and fat layer thickness. This differentiated function is uniquely realized by Da Vinci's cutting-edge technology. The XD-Pro series massage module is applied, moving precisely by 6 degrees at a time. The improved heating function with massage heating balls provides warm thermal massage. The XD protrusion amount is enhanced by 150% compared to previous products, allowing users to experience a deep and gentle massage sensation.
Collaboration with Italian Design Company
The arm massage section is designed with an exposed palm acupressure area. It offers various massages through air, 620nm LED, and thermal therapy. Additionally, it is designed so that users can easily adjust the chair angle, pause, and operate ON/OFF functions without removing their hands during the massage.
The design, born from collaboration with ITAL design, an Italian design consulting company famous for automotive design and engineering, stands out. It incorporates elements such as curves and materials inspired by automotive styling, creating a futuristic form and color. The in-house produced brand sound, 'The time to be noble,' which won the main prize in the Brand Communication category at the Red Dot Design Award, is also applied.
Moreover, various user convenience features are equipped, including safety sensors that detect pinching and movement, a separate internal key for simple operation, and full-range speakers that deliver rich and three-dimensional sound.
'Da Vinci' is an exclusive product for department stores. It can be experienced and purchased at 47 department store lounges nationwide. The price is 6.5 million KRW.
