Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is recruiting students for 28 lifelong learning programs running from July to September, starting at 10 AM on July 3.
The "Geumcheon-gu Lifelong Learning Program" is a daily learning program that strengthens life competencies in areas such as culture and arts, humanities and general knowledge, and vocational skills. It is operated at the Geumcheon-gu Lifelong Learning Center (basement level 1 of Geumcheon-gu Office) and runs quarterly, reflecting residents' needs and social trends.
Main programs include ▲ smartphone usage ▲ elementary and middle school math instructor certification, horticultural psychology education instructor certification ▲ craft courses such as leathercraft, lacquer inlay, and three-dimensional embroidery ▲ others like ukulele ▲ classical music and Western art history ▲ literary painting and calligraphy.
Additionally, intermediate and advanced courses such as ▲ stylish lettering art (calligraphy) ▲ smartphone video editing ▲ calligraphy contest preparation class ▲ modern sketching are also offered.
Tuition fees range from 24,000 KRW to 52,800 KRW, and those eligible for discounts, including seniors aged 65 and over, can receive a 50% reduction in tuition fees.
Programs run from July 17 to October 10, with each course held 10 to 11 times. Residents wishing to participate can apply online through the Geumcheon-gu Education Portal or visit the Geumcheon-gu Lifelong Learning Center in person.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “Going forward, we will also open and operate programs that reflect social trends, such as courses to strengthen competencies for the 4th Industrial Revolution, as well as learning courses needed throughout life.”
