This summer, expected to bring unprecedented heatwaves, Gumi City will open water play areas at three urban parks, including Wonho (Munjanggol) Forest Park and Sandong Mulbit Park, from July 1 to September 3. These facilities will operate daily from 1:00 PM to 5:40 PM to provide citizens with cool and comfortable resting places.

The city plans to conduct regular water quality tests, cleaning, and disinfection of the water play areas to prevent the outbreak of infectious diseases among users. Safety management personnel will be assigned separately at each water play area to make every effort to prevent safety accidents.

To improve residential conditions and broadly provide citizens with cool resting spaces during the summer, the city plans to invest a total project cost of 2.5 billion KRW by 2024 to additionally expand three water play areas (Gupyeong Park, Sandong Mulbit Park (expansion), and Sagok Mulkkot Park) in large apartment complexes with high populations, by region.
