Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do has installed smart national grid reference plates at 31 forest road locations on Chukryeongsan and Byeongpungsan Mountains.
According to the county on the 20th, the national grid reference system is a location indication system that divides the entire national territory into a grid of 10m by 10m squares, consisting of a 10-character combination of letters and numbers.

It was also devised to report the exact location in case of emergencies in areas without buildings, such as mountains and rivers.
The smart national grid reference plates display both the national grid reference number and a QR code.
In an emergency, if it is difficult to input the national grid reference number, one can simply open the smartphone camera and scan the QR code.
The national grid reference number for the location is automatically entered into the mobile phone, making it easier to report the situation.
A county official said, “As outdoor activities become more active, the probability of safety accidents also increases. We will continue to expand the installation of smart national grid reference plates to enhance the safety of residents and visitors.”
