With the appointment of these two individuals, the total number of prosecutors at the agency, including the head and deputy head, will be 21 out of the authorized 25 positions. The agency is currently conducting additional recruitment procedures for three positions, including one chief prosecutor and two ordinary prosecutors.

As an IT-specialized legal professional with a background in engineering and experience as a researcher at the National Security Technology Research Institute and as a prosecutor, he is recognized for his outstanding performance in investigations and litigation related to 'personal information protection,' including internet fraud and hacking crimes.

Lawyer Gong graduated from Jeonju Youngsaeng High School and Korea University Law School. He graduated from Hanyang University Law School in 2013 and passed the 2nd Bar Exam. He subsequently served as a public interest legal officer at the Korea Legal Aid Corporation and Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office.

He has developed expertise in the criminal field while working as a lawyer at Sonamu Law Office, Gowon Law Firm, and Lin Law Firm.

After announcing the recruitment at the end of February, the agency conducted a first round of document screening and a second round of interviews. On the 4th of last month, the personnel committee comprehensively reviewed candidates' political neutrality, investigative capabilities, and other essential qualities required of prosecutors, recommended these two as candidates, and recently completed the approval process by President Yoon Seok-youl.
