Jungnang-gu, New Bus Route No. 2212 Established

Bus No. 2212 to Operate from First Departure at 4:20 AM on June 30

Alleviating Public Transportation Inconvenience in Myeonmok 2-dong and Myeonmok 5-dong near Jungnangcheon Stream

The No. 2212 bus, which travels through major areas of Jungnang-gu such as Bonghwasan Station, Mangu-ro, Seoul Milk in Myeonmok 2-dong, and Sagajeong Station, will begin operation from June 30.

This new route was established to resolve public transportation inconveniences for residents of Myeonmok 2-dong and Myeonmok 5-dong near Jungnangcheon Stream. Compared to other Myeonmok neighborhoods served by Line 7, this area has lacked sufficient public transportation infrastructure, leading to long-standing demands for a new bus route.

The bus departs from Bulamsan Taereung Transportation Garage and runs a total of 32 km, passing through major subway stations such as Hwarangdae Station and Bonghwasan Station, then along Mangu-ro, Sagajeong Station, and Myeonmok Station. A total of 10 vehicles will operate from the first departure at 4:20 AM on weekdays, with intervals of 13 to 15 minutes.

Jungnang-gu, New Bus Route No. 2212 Established

With the establishment of the No. 2212 route, residents of Myeonmok 2-dong and 5-dong will have direct access not only to subway stations such as Line 7 and the Gyeongui-Jungang Line but also to large retail facilities like Costco near Mangu-ro. It is also expected to shorten commuting times for students by providing direct connections to Junghwa Middle School and Myeonmok Middle and High Schools.

Additionally, the route serves the Yangwon district and the densely packed academy area along the Jungnang-gu Office line, which is expected to partially address complaints about the need for new academy buses due to development in the Yangwon district.

Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, “We expect that the new bus route will greatly alleviate commuting and school travel inconveniences for residents of Myeonmok 2-dong and 5-dong, areas previously underserved by transportation.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to build transportation infrastructure, including promoting the Myeonmok Line urban railway (light rail) and constructing the GTX Sangbong Station complex transfer center.”
