According to Yes24, since November last year, the popularity of "Manil Naega Insaeng-eul Dasi Sandamyeon" has continued, and in March, "Naemyeon Sotong" was followed by a sharp rise in sales of "Modeun Salmeun Heureunda" and "Dodukmat-eun Jipjunglyeok" in May. The sales of the two books increased by 7.9% and 3.2%, respectively. The overall sales growth rate in the humanities field for the first half of the year was recorded at 1.4%.
Analysis of the bestsellers in the first half of the year showed that humanities essays delivering insights, advice, and comfort about life in one's own language received attention. "Manil Naega Insaeng-eul Dasi Sandamyeon," written by psychoanalysis specialist Kim Hyenam, containing advice for readers turning forty as a life senior, ranked first in the humanities category for the first half of the year. "Modeun Salmeun Heureunda," which tells life philosophy flowing like water through the medium of the 'sea,' ranked third, followed by "Naega Teullil Sudo Itseumnida," depicting the journey and end of 'Supsog-ui Hyeonja' Lindeblad, at fourth place.
Books related to neuroscience and mindfulness also made progress. "Naemyeon Sotong," which explains how to improve 'mind strength' and maintain a healthy mind using the latest neuroscience and meditation, ranked second in the humanities bestsellers for the first half of the year. "Kluge," dealing with the 'thinking traps' caused by the imperfect brain, was reissued after 10 years following a YouTuber's recommendation and ranked ninth. Additionally, "Insta Brain," focusing on modern people's immersion and concentration, and the new release "Dodukmat-eun Jipjunglyeok" received attention.
