This agreement was prepared to expand the Hallyu (Korean Wave) domain and create new inbound demand by discovering another Hallyu beyond popular Hallyu contents represented by K-pop and dramas, such as performances and arts, through collaboration between the Arts Council, a specialized institution for cultural and artistic promotion, and KTO, which possesses vast tourism content.
The two organizations will collaborate to build attractive tourism content combined with K-Art tailored to personalized and segmented consumer travel trends. They will plan K-Art tour routes that inbound foreign tourists can enjoy while traveling, along with recommended cultural and artistic programs.
A special K-Art themed pavilion will be launched on ‘VISITKOREA’ in the second half of the year, and various promotions will be carried out.
Jung Byung-guk, Chairman of the Korea Arts Council, stated, “Through this business agreement, we have laid the foundation for K-Art to expand globally,” and added, “We will continuously discover K-Art content so that tourists visiting Korea can fall in love with the charm of K-Art.”
Lee Jae-hwan, Vice President of the Korea Tourism Organization, said, “We expect Korean culture and arts to be reborn as attractive tourism content,” and added, “We will continue to discover K-Art content that creates new value by integrating with tourism and carries on another wave of Hallyu.”
