Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Presents AI Future Education Direction at Successful 'Policy Briefing'

The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education successfully held the ‘AI Gwangju Future Education Policy Briefing in the Age of Artificial Intelligence’ on the 16th. It was praised for presenting the direction of AI Gwangju Future Education.


According to the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education on the 19th, the briefing was conducted for about 380 vice principals and education professionals from various schools to explain the major policies and progress of AI Gwangju Future Education announced in February.

It was planned to specifically convey the direction of AI Gwangju Future Education to school sites by sharing cases of integrated classes using AI courseware and edutech.


The Office of Education shared the background and current status of the main projects promoted by AI Gwangju Future Education, along with precautions in project implementation.


In particular, attention from schools focused on digital transformation education such as ▲distribution of one smart device per student ▲operation of pilot education offices for digital-based educational innovation ▲introduction of AI digital textbooks. Subsequently, policies supporting schools such as AI Factory construction and Gwangju AI-ON (AI-ON) were shared in detail to enhance schools’ understanding of the Office of Education’s future education policies.


Along with this, a special lecture on ‘Education Using AI and Digital Technology’ was conducted. This was a valuable and meaningful training opportunity to examine global edutech-based educational innovation cases. Through sharing various educational activity cases such as digital technology utilization classes in the classroom, it was evaluated that the future of Gwangju education could be previewed.


Superintendent Lee Jeong-seon said, “We will develop Gwangju education that cultivates humanity and future-readiness suitable for the 4th Industrial Revolution and the age of artificial intelligence,” adding, “Going forward, Gwangju education will strengthen support policies for the creation of educational infrastructure and digital-based educational innovation so that students, the main actors of future society, can grow in accordance with the changes of the era.”
