PhD Student Wang Bang from Dong-Eui University Music Department Donates Development Fund

Wang Bang, a Chinese international student in the doctoral program of the Department of Music at Dong-Eui University Graduate School, donated 3 million KRW to the university development fund on the 15th.

Having completed his bachelor's and master's degrees in vocal music in China, Wang is scheduled to receive his doctoral degree from the Department of Music at Dong-Eui University this August.

Wang debuted as a popular singer after winning second place at the 2012 National Vocal Competition in China and actively pursued his career before entering Dong-Eui University Graduate School. In Korea, he held a "Soprano Wang Bang Invitation Recital" at the Busan Cinema Center last April.

Wang said, "I decided to study in Korea not only because of the popularity of K-POP but also because Korea is world-class in traditional music such as vocal and classical music. I feel that I have grown one step further by experiencing Korean-style music and acquiring an international sensibility at Dong-Eui University."

He added, "I have always been grateful for the great help and consideration from the school and professors in Korea," and "Through enjoyable and wonderful memories and learning experiences in Korea, including the performance at the Busan Cinema Center, I will work even harder in China."

Upon graduation, Wang plans to return to China to continue his singing career and devote himself to nurturing future talents at a university.
