The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival announced on the 19th that it will hold a masterclass with director Ari Aster at 4 p.m. on the 29th at the Korea Manhwa Museum. The session will be hosted by Barry Savas, a professor at the American Film Institute (AFI), and conducted with simultaneous interpretation. The masterclass will delve deeply into his body of work, including his new film Boys Are Afraid. Boys Are Afraid is a strange and fantastical odyssey in which Bo, who is going to meet his mother, experiences a horror where memory, fantasy, and reality are intertwined. Director Aster introduced it as "a film I have been conceptualizing for 10 years and my most authentic work, fully embodying my personality and humor."

Professor Savas, who will lead the session, is visiting the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival as the dean of the Asian Fantastic Film Production Network’s Fantastic Film School. He has produced over thirty films, including The Line of Seduction (1990), and has been active in numerous film festivals and institutions. He and Director Aster formed a mentor-mentee relationship at the AFI Conservatory.

The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival will be held from the 29th of this month until the 9th of next month across Bucheon city. Screenings will be available at Bucheon City Hall (Lawn Square, Eoul Madang, Fantastic Cube), Korea Manhwa Museum, CGV Sopung, Megabox Bucheon Starfield City, Wave, and other venues.
