HK Innoen, 'This Time Pediatric Obesity' Georeumen Innoen 4 Progress

HK Innoen announced on the 19th that it will conduct a one-month step donation campaign, ‘Georeumen Innoen 4,’ targeting employees and the general public from the 19th of this month to the 17th of next month, in collaboration with the Korean Society for Obesity and the Community Chest of Korea.

Under the slogan “Lighten Korea,” this campaign was planned in cooperation with the Korean Society for Obesity to create social consensus that “obesity is a disease requiring treatment” and to spread correct and healthy walking habits among participants. If the goal of 500 million steps is reached, a scholarship fund of 50 million KRW will be provided to children struggling with pediatric obesity.

The Georeumen Innoen campaign is HK Innoen’s representative social contribution activity, ongoing for three years since 2021. Through three campaigns so far, a total of 66,000 participants have collected about 3.8 billion steps, far exceeding the target, and donated a total of 150 million KRW in scholarships to children and adolescents with diabetes, children of organ donors, and others. The previous campaigns also achieved a carbon reduction effect equivalent to planting up to 100,000 pine trees.

Participation in the campaign is simple. Anyone can easily donate steps by installing the dedicated step donation application ‘Big Walk’ on their smartphone and selecting the ongoing campaign ‘Georeumen Innoen 4 (Lighten Korea).’

An HK Innoen social contribution officer said, “This campaign was planned in cooperation with the Korean Society for Obesity to raise awareness that ‘obesity is a disease’ and to support children struggling with pediatric obesity. Since it is an activity with high participation and satisfaction among employees, we will operate the campaign regularly twice a year and strive to enable everyone to easily practice ESG in their daily lives.”
