Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that it held the 2023 Integrity Poem Contest for all employees and selected a total of 9 works: 1 grand prize, 3 excellence awards, and 5 encouragement awards.
The contest was conducted by choosing one of the 8th term catchphrases?‘Changing Dobong’, ‘Growing Dobong’, or ‘Dobong with a Future’?and creating a four-line acrostic poem related to integrity.
During the ten-day submission period from May 10, a total of 197 entries were received. Based on originality and relevance to integrity, 9 works were selected through first and second rounds of judging by the Dobong Literary Association and others. The final ranking was decided through a one-week survey of all employees starting June 2.
The grand prize-winning poem was “Unchanging Dobong’s pledge of integrity / No anger here, kind administration ready to help / Proactive administration, no envelopes allowed / Clean administration,” and among the excellence awards was “Though the start of change may be small and weak / Like the sunshine on a bright spring day, it seeps within us / Like the first stroke on a landscape painting on a blank canvas / ‘Integrity’ is the change engraved in the heart’s bud.” The selected works will be actively used in future integrity education and promotional materials.
An employee who participated in the contest shared, “Thinking about creating a poem with the word ‘integrity,’ which I usually only heard about, and sharing it with others made me reflect on whether I have been acting with integrity myself.”
Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu said, “I hope this integrity poem contest gave Dobong-gu employees a chance to rethink and self-reflect on integrity. Based on a clean organizational culture, I hope all employees will work together to help Dobong-gu become a city known for integrity.”
