Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that the Yongwangsan Moonlight Street project in Mok 2-dong, which began as a local specialized street project in 2020, has been completed with the installation of a crescent moon-shaped sculpture.

According to the district, based on the newly cleaned specialized street this year, they have newly installed ▲a staircase rest area and photo zone ▲utility pole sculptures ▲Yongwangsan Moonlight Street signboards to enhance the image of Yongwangsan Moonlight Street and establish it as a local hotspot.

First, the existing bicycle racks near Exit 4 of Yeomchang Station were removed, and wooden deck flooring and rest area benches were installed. To add visual effect, the symbolic 'Moon and Star sculptures' representing the image of Yongwangsan Moonlight Street were placed to create a photo zone. Additionally, signboards were installed on the entrance stairs to serve as directional guides to Yongwangsan.

The market alley in Mok 2-dong has also been newly renovated. Twenty utility poles along the path from Yeomchang Station to Yongwangsan were equipped with solar-powered lighting sculptures of 'Yongwangsan Moonlight Street,' brightening the street atmosphere and allowing visitors to enjoy the moonlight street even at night.

Yongwangsan Moonlight Street, located around the alleys of Mok 2-dong (Mokdong Jungangbuk-ro, Mokdong Jungangbuk-ro 16-gil), completed ▲new sidewalks ▲additional CCTV installations ▲maintenance of stairs and signboards, and has been fully open since December last year.

Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “Yongwangsan Moonlight Street, a distinctive alley in our district, has become more vibrant with the installation of sculptures and signboards,” and added, “We hope this will serve as a catalyst to further revitalize the local alley commerce and become a beloved landmark for residents for a long time.”
