On the 16th, the county held a ‘Integrity Live Education’ session at the Jangseong Culture and Arts Center Grand Theater.

About 300 public officials from Jangseong County Office and the police station attended, spending a meaningful time to enhance awareness of integrity and reaffirm the sense of duty as public servants.

The education was divided into four parts.

First, ‘New Byeoljubu-jeon,’ which expressed the value of integrity through pansori, marked the beginning of the education. The performance was led by Jo Aeran, head of the Pansori Sarangbang ‘Soran.’

In the following special lecture, Kang Sangwoo, an integrity specialist lecturer, took the stage. He explained the prohibition of power abuse and the code of conduct for integrity through real-life examples.

After the lecture, a sand art performance titled ‘Starry Night’ was presented, depicting the award-winning essay from the integrity content contest using sand.

At the end of the education, an ‘Integrity Inspirational Video’ was screened. It portrayed stories of public officials doing their best in their respective positions, gaining empathy from the audience.

A public official surnamed Lee who attended the Jangseong County Integrity Live Education said, “The concert-style program composed of diverse visual content and lectures felt fresh,” adding, “It was very helpful in renewing my mindset toward public service.”

The county is implementing various integrity policies such as operating the ‘Integrity Broadcast’ to start the morning, holding integrity content competitions, conducting the ‘Integrity Resolution Ceremony’ to pledge integrity practice, and introducing a self-learning system for integrity.

Earlier this year, Jangseong regained a second-grade rating in the comprehensive integrity evaluation of public institutions by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission for the first time in seven years.

Kim Han-jong, the mayor of Jangseong County, emphasized, “When an honest society is established, residents are happy, and children grow into future leaders with a sense of hometown pride,” adding, “We will build a proud Jangseong County that does not tarnish its reputation as the home of virtuous officials.”
