'BTS 10th Anniversary' 400,000 Purple Waves Dye Yeouido

On the 17th, the ‘BTS 10th Anniversary FESTA @Yeouido’ commemorating BTS’s 10th debut anniversary was held around Yeouido Hangang Park in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

‘BTS FESTA’ is a festival BTS holds every year to celebrate their debut day and enjoy with their fans. This year, marking their 10th anniversary, they collaborated with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to host various online and offline events.

Despite the weather exceeding 30 degrees Celsius that day, ARMY (BTS’s official fandom) gathered in Yeouido from early morning wearing purple clothes. The agency Big Hit Music announced that the total number of visitors to the ‘BTS FESTA’ reached 400,000, including 120,000 foreign visitors.

RM communicated directly with ARMY through ‘5 PM, This is Kim Namjoon.’ RM shared his thoughts on the 10th anniversary and introduced ARMY’s stories in line with the radio show concept.

After the voices of Jimin and Suga were broadcast, Jungkook and V greeted ARMY via phone calls. Jungkook, currently in Los Angeles, USA, said, “I was waiting from 1:30 AM to take the call. I miss you all. Please have fun,” and V sent a supportive message to RM, saying, “I was originally going to be there. Hyung, your form is crazy.”

At the end of the program, RM said, "I vividly remember coming to Yeouido when I was a trainee and a high school student just to see the fireworks festival once," and added, "I never thought I would come here and meet you all. I am grateful once again to everyone who prepared this wonderful event."

From 8:30 PM, a fireworks show marking the finale of the ‘BTS FESTA’ took place. The fireworks show, combined with BTS’s hit songs and Jungkook’s narration, lasted for 30 minutes and brightly illuminated the entire city of Seoul.

The fireworks show was accompanied by BTS’s representative songs, heightening the atmosphere. Starting with ‘Mikrokosmos,’ followed by ‘Boy With Luv,’ ‘FAKE LOVE,’ ‘Dynamite,’ and ‘Butter,’ the fireworks were choreographed to match the characteristics of each song, painting the night sky purple.

Through the narration, Jungkook said, “Thank you for brightly lighting up our night when there was nothing. Shall we open the second act of ours together?” Soon after, the final song and the 10th anniversary commemorative digital single ‘Take Two’ echoed.

Meanwhile, BTS’s 10th anniversary celebration events continue throughout Seoul. Major landmarks in Seoul such as Namsan Seoul Tower, Sebitseom, Dongdaemun Design Plaza, and Seoul City Hall are expected to be illuminated in purple until the 25th.
