Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Ilhyung Lee) Seoul Korean Medicine Promotion Center (Seoul Yakryeongsi Korean Medicine Museum) will hold a ‘Korean Medicine Book Talk’ on June 28th with the theme ‘Korean Herbal Prescription Guide’ in celebration of Culture Day in June.
The ‘Korean Medicine Book Talk,’ held on the last Wednesday of every month’s ‘Culture Day,’ is a free lecture where a Korean medicine doctor who authored Korean medicine books meets residents directly to share seasonal health information, knowledge of Korean medicine history, and health tips.
The June Korean Medicine Book Talk on the 28th will be led by former Kyung Hee University College of Korean Medicine professor Deokgyun An, author of the ‘Korean Herbal Prescription Guide.’ He will introduce 132 new herbs that have not been covered in textbooks or prescriptions, including ▲medicinal plants around us that are not well known ▲herbs not yet utilized as herbal medicine, along with their respective effects and applications.
The lecture will be held at the Seoul Korean Medicine Promotion Center for the first 50 applicants on a first-come, first-served basis.
Those who wish to participate can apply by June 27th through the Dongdaemun-gu website’s citizen participation section or via ‘Seoul Public Service Reservation.’ For more details, inquiries can be made by phone to the Seoul Korean Medicine Promotion Center staff.
A representative of the Seoul Korean Medicine Promotion Center stated, “On Culture Day in June, we recommend visiting the Seoul Korean Medicine Promotion Center to attend health lectures that help with your well-being and to tour the museum, which is open free of charge.”
The upcoming Korean Medicine Book Talks from July to September are scheduled as follows: ▲July 26 ‘Essential Muscle Science’ (Korean medicine doctor Byungjo Kwon) ▲August 30 ‘Stress Syndrome’ (Korean medicine doctor Seunghwan Lee) ▲September 27 ‘Wind Stories Told to My Daughter’ (Korean medicine doctor Honggyun Kim).
