Recruiting a total of 80 university students for the summer vacation administrative experience program through the district website until the 23rd of this month

Support various administrative tasks during the vacation and gain experience in policy proposal activities to increase interest in district administration

Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Wono) announced that it will recruit 80 participants for the '2023 Summer Vacation University Student Administrative Experience Program,' which allows students to experience district administration and welfare work while earning tuition fees during the vacation.

The eligibility requirement is to be a university student or on leave of absence residing in Seongdong-gu as of the application date, June 12. However, those who participated in the experience program during last summer vacation or this winter vacation, as well as students enrolled in university-affiliated lifelong education centers, cyber universities, or broadcasting and correspondence universities, are excluded.

Applicants wishing to work can apply through the Seongdong-gu Office website by the 23rd of this month. For other inquiries, contact the Autonomous Administration Division. Among the applicants, 80 final participants will be selected through a random computerized draw, and the selection results will be announced on the 28th.

The final selected administrative experience participants will be assigned to the district office, health center, community service centers, or district libraries. From July 10 to August 8, for one month, they will engage in administrative and welfare support tasks and activities to discover life-centered policies. The salary will be approximately 1.56 million KRW, based on the 2023 Seongdong-gu living wage.

Last year, the district also operated 80 university student administrative experience participants per vacation, totaling 160 students, and held workshops to share activity impressions and policy ideas.

In particular, the winter vacation university student administrative experience program this year discovered a total of 45 policy ideas, and some proposals, such as the 'policy combining elderly welfare and pet care,' are currently under review for implementation.

Jeong Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "The administrative experience program operated by the district allows university students to experience various administrative sites and increase their interest in district administration. Additionally, it will be a great opportunity to directly propose ideas for regional development."
