Dongdaemun-gu Hosts 'Residents United Walking Day' Event

On the Morning of the 17th, ‘2023 Dongdaemun-gu Residents One Heart Walking Day’ Event Held at Hongneung Forest

Spending a Harmonious Time Walking 3km on the Hongneung Forest Trail... Abundant Prize Events and Various Performances Conducted

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Ilhyung Lee) announced that on the morning of the 17th at 7 a.m., the ‘2023 Dongdaemun-gu Residents One Heart Walking Day’ event was held, hosted by the Dongdaemun-gu Sports Council.

The ‘2023 Dongdaemun-gu Residents One Heart Walking Day’ took place at the National Institute of Forest Science’s Hongneung Forest, featuring pre-event performances such as children’s musical jump rope demonstrations, followed by warm-up exercises and the official walking event.

Residents participating in the event started together with the ceremonial bell ringing by Mayor Ilhyung Lee of Dongdaemun-gu, walking 3km along the Hongneung Forest trail with their families and neighbors, sharing conversations and fostering harmony.

All participants were given small commemorative gifts such as reusable shopping bags, and after the walk, lively performances by the cheer team and invited singers were held, along with prize giveaways including home appliances, daily necessities, and bicycles, adding excitement to the event.

Mayor Ilhyung Lee of Dongdaemun-gu expressed, “I deeply thank the National Institute of Forest Science for opening Hongneung Forest as the venue for the Walking Day event to promote community harmony. I am glad to meet and walk with the residents on this fresh early summer morning. We will create a healthy city Dongdaemun-gu by developing pleasant walking paths filled with flowers and trees.”
