Osan-myeon Gwaneum Village Elders Hanbok Fashion Show Held
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (County Governor Sangcheol Lee) announced on the 14th that it held the ‘Hanbok Wearing Youthful Village Fashion Show’ for the elderly at Gwaneum Village in Osan-myeon.
This event was conducted in connection with a pilot project to revitalize living culture by actively utilizing Hanbok resources accumulated through the 'Hanbok Culture Regional Hub Support Project,' hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for three consecutive years since 2020.
Additionally, the county promoted the village fashion show to encourage residents to enjoy living culture in their daily lives and to expand the base of cultural welfare.
In particular, at this cultural event, six parents of Seoul university students from Dodam Dodam Village in Osan-myeon and young village activists participated as staff for the Hanbok fashion show.
They took on roles such as makeup artists and coordinators for the elderly, interacting with local seniors, making it a more meaningful event as a time of cultural communication.
The elderly walked along the red carpet in front of the village hall, striking poses to lively rhythms and taking photos to keep as memories.
Mr. K, an elderly participant in the fashion show, said, “In this quiet village, it was my first time putting on makeup, wearing Hanbok, and walking the red carpet. Since young people helped me and took pictures, I feel like I have become younger as well.”
Meanwhile, on the 30th, a Hanbok cultural experience event planned directly by the living improvement associations of 11 eup and myeon and participated in by local residents will be held at the Godal-myeon village hall.
Furthermore, Gokseong-gun plans to continuously promote living culture community activities that create daily life as culture together with neighbors.
