Jungnang-gu Expands Installation of EM Complex Machines and Free Distribution of EM Culture Solution

Free Distribution of EM Culture Solution to Residents Every Monday to Thursday from 10 AM to 5 PM
Effective for Odor Removal, Cleaning, Laundry, and Water Quality Improvement
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has expanded the installation of EM complex machines at community service centers and the Environmental Education Center, increasing the free distribution of EM culture solution.
EM stands for Effective Micro-organisms, a microbial consortium cultivated by mixing beneficial microorganisms such as yeast and lactic acid bacteria that are helpful to humans and the environment.
This month, the district added EM complex machines to the Mangu Bon-dong and Mangu 3-dong community service centers, where previously only the Myeonmok Bon-dong community service center had one installed.
Additionally, a complex machine was installed at the Jungnang-gu Environmental Education Center, the hub of local environmental education.
At the Myeonmok Bon-dong, Mangu Bon-dong, and Mangu 3-dong community service centers, as well as the Jungnang-gu Environmental Education Center where EM complex machines are installed, EM culture solution is provided free of charge to residents. Visitors can bring an empty 2ℓ container and receive the solution from Monday to Thursday, 10 AM to 5 PM.
The EM culture solution can be used in daily life for various purposes such as removing household odors, cleaning, laundry, and growing plants. It also has excellent ability to decompose pollutants in domestic wastewater, making it highly effective for water quality improvement.
The district plans to offer education on how to use EM more effectively to help residents utilize it better.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, “We will strive to promote the distribution of EM so that more residents can practice eco-friendliness in their daily lives. We will also do our best to develop policies to advance Jungnang as an eco-friendly city.”
