Jang Kyung-tae: "Jang Ye-chan was writing adult stories... I don't want to be involved"

Jang Kyung-tae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, visited KBS on the 14th to protest the separate collection of KBS license fees and fainted. In response to this, Jang Ye-chan, the Youth Supreme Council Member of the People Power Party, raised suspicions that it was a 'fainting show,' but Jang Kyung-tae drew a line, saying he "does not want to be involved."

On the 16th, Jang said on SBS's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show,' "As for Youth Supreme Council Member Jang, wasn't he the one who used to write erotic novels?"

Some netizens who saw Jang's fainting scene claimed that he was wearing a knee brace and raised the issue as a 'fainting show.' In response, Jang stated, "You cannot sit cross-legged while wearing a knee brace," and announced plans for legal action. In turn, Youth Supreme Council Member Jang raised suspicions again the day before while sitting cross-legged wearing a knee brace.

Jang is currently reviewing legal measures against netizens but has no immediate plans for legal action. He said, "For now, there are many people raising malicious suspicions and posting malicious comments on various communities, and I am monitoring these. So, for those who repeatedly and maliciously do this, it is true that I am reviewing the matter," adding, "If Youth Supreme Council Member Jang elaborates a bit more, I will consider it more carefully."

Regarding the appointment of Kim Eun-kyung, a professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Law School, who was supported by the 'Pro-Moon (친문)' faction as the successor to Innovation Committee Chairman Lee Rae-kyung, he said, "The media often writes that the so-called Pro-Moon faction is pushing the candidate, so I wondered if that was the case, but it seems not to be so," adding, "Since she played a significant role in the Moon Jae-in administration, I believe she will naturally perform a major role smoothly within the Democratic Party."

On whether full authority will be granted to the Innovation Committee, he said, "I am not sure what the meaning of full authority is," adding, "For example, whether it is the authority of the Supreme Council, the authority of the party meeting, or whether it requires the consent of all lawmakers?I am not sure what exactly it means. However, if they thoroughly review and make a public proposal, I think both the leadership and the lawmakers will feel the burden."

The Non-Myeong (非明) faction has also raised suspicions that the Innovation Committee might only strengthen the current leadership's authority through measures such as abolishing the delegate system. In response, he said, "Rather than debating whether delegates or party members are right, I think principles are important," adding, "I believe it is more important for the majority to enjoy rights rather than a minority monopolizing them, so naturally, the ultimate destination of the majority is the people."
