Dongdaemun-gu "Let's Walk Together, Beautiful Hongneung Forest Trail"

On the 17th at 7 a.m., the ‘Gu Residents United Walking Day’ event will be held at Hongneung Forest of the National Institute of Forest Science

Celebratory performances including saxophone, hip-hop dance, music jump rope, and various prize draws scheduled

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) will hold the ‘Gu Residents United Walking Day’ event with families on the 17th at 7 a.m. at Hongneung Forest of the National Institute of Forest Science to promote the health and unity of its residents.


Hosted by the Dongdaemun-gu Sports Council, this event is sponsored by Dongdaemun-gu, the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, Korea Racing Authority Dongdaemun Branch, Lotte Department Store Cheongnyangni Branch, KB Kookmin Bank Dongdaemun-gu Office Branch, Dong-A Pharmaceutical, Evejarie, Seoul Naeun Hospital, Polo Club Bag No.1, Daemyung Credit Union, LG Best Shop Jang-an Branch, Honda Motorcycle Gangbuk Dealer Branch, Homeplus Dongdaemun Branch, and Hanbaek General Construction.


The ‘2023 Gu Residents United Walking Day’ event will take place on a 3 km walking course along the trail of Hongneung Forest, a healing urban forest and a well-known ‘walkable Seoul path.’ It is expected to take about one hour, and anyone can participate without a separate reservation.


Comedian and broadcaster Kim Han-guk will host the event, and various entertaining performances such as saxophone, hip-hop dance, singer performances, and music jump rope demonstrations are prepared. All participants will receive a small souvenir, and in addition, various prize draws including home appliances, daily necessities, and bicycles will be held.


Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “At the beginning of summer, I hope everyone gains vibrant energy by walking together through the beautiful forest during the Walking Day event,” and added, “Hongneung Forest has gentle trails that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can easily walk, so I ask for many residents’ participation.”
