According to AFP on the 14th, Cambodian prosecutors announced that they indicted a Chinese couple in their 30s on charges of murdering Korean BJ A. The charge applied is 'murder accompanied by torture,' and if convicted, the couple could face life imprisonment.

Earlier, A was found on the 6th in a village in Kandal Province near Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, wrapped in a red cloth and abandoned in a pond.

Cambodian police, who analyzed fingerprints on the cloth surrounding the body, arrested a Chinese couple running a hospital on charges including abandoning the corpse. The couple told the police that A, who visited their hospital, suddenly had a seizure and died during treatment, and they abandoned the body.

On the 2nd, A entered Cambodia and is known to have received an intravenous drip or serum injection at the hospital. Cambodian police have been investigating whether there was any negligence during the treatment process. However, specific details regarding the torture charges have not been disclosed.
