Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Byeong-gyu) announced on the 14th that it held the opening ceremony of the new Hanam 3 District Public Health Center.
The opening ceremony was held with the attendance of Park Byeong-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, local members of the National Assembly, city and district council members, medical institution associations, and citizens, and included a pre-ceremony performance, progress report, and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new Public Health Center building was constructed in connection with the Hanam 3 District resident support project, with a total floor area of 4,586㎡, consisting of one basement floor and three above-ground floors.
The first floor houses the civil service office, treatment consultation rooms, vaccination rooms, Korean medicine consultation rooms, and physical therapy rooms. There is also a health community space where any citizen can visit to measure and manage their own InBody, stress index, blood pressure, and more.
The second floor is equipped with a radiology room, clinical pathology room, pulmonary health management room, and a smoking cessation clinic space.
The Gwangsan-gu Public Health Center completed its relocation to the new building on the 8th of last month and has started operations. In the second half of the year, regular health lectures for citizens will be held in the education room.
At the official opening of the new Public Health Center, a second-part event called the Resident Health Experience Festival was also held.
Under the theme "Health that everyone enjoys and shares," free experience booths were operated covering smoking cessation, dementia prevention, cardiovascular management, proper medication use, infectious disease prevention, and promotion of public health projects.
In this regard, Gwangsan-gu plans to promote various public health projects to ensure that the Public Health Center, which has started anew in Hanam 3 District, becomes a substantial and citizen-satisfying regional health care institution. These projects include citizen health classes, expansion of health management infrastructure, health city schools, operation of visiting Korean medicine consultation rooms, and visiting psychological support services.
Park Byeong-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, stated, "The Gwangsan-gu Public Health Center, newly starting in Hanam 3 District, will become a hub that pioneers a new horizon of public health through community solidarity and participation," and added, "We will do our best to make the Gwangsan-gu Public Health Center a beloved partner in citizens' health and happiness, responsible for a dignified life."
