Busan Port Authority (BPA) will conduct safety and health compliance inspections on public facilities such as Busan Port International Passenger Terminal and Coastal Passenger Terminal starting from the 14th to prevent serious accidents.
The inspection will comprehensively verify compliance with obligations under the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, the establishment of safety and health management systems, and obligations under relevant laws in the event of an accident.
Based on the inspection results, facilities that fail to fulfill safety and health obligations or are found inadequate will be required to make immediate corrections, and improvement measures and action plans will be developed to enhance effectiveness.
Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, stated, “To prevent accidents involving BPA workplace workers and citizens using Busan Port, we will continuously strengthen inspections on compliance with obligations and also promote risk assessment education and accident prevention facility support projects for small-scale workplaces.”
