Weekday Japanese Embassy Holds Briefing on Nuclear Plant Contaminated Water Discharge

On the 13th, the Embassy of Japan in Beijing, China, held a briefing session for foreign media stationed in China regarding the discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (referred to as "treated water" by the Japanese government), according to Jiji Press.

According to the report, officials from the Japanese government in Japan participated online in the briefing. Sixteen journalists from eight countries gathered.


Jiji Press stated, "The purpose of this briefing was to provide accurate information based on scientific evidence, in response to the Chinese side repeatedly making unilateral statements without scientific grounds."
