Remaining Seven Are Looking for New Owners

Some of the 10 puppies that were rescued with difficulty from a house fire in Gangwon-do are expected to be euthanized.

At 9:13 a.m. on the 2nd, a fire broke out at a house in Changbong-ri, Gonggeun-myeon, Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do. When firefighters responded to the report, the flames were blazing fiercely.

Since the house was near a mountain, firefighters focused their efforts on preventing the fire from spreading to the forest. At the time, 10 pieces of equipment and 33 personnel were deployed to extinguish the fire, and fortunately, there were no casualties.

At that time, several puppies were heard whining around the building, and Shin Woo-gyo, the on-site response team leader of Hoengseong Fire Station, and Lee Sang-hoon, the captain of the Gonggeun ambulance team, began searching for the source of the sounds.

Firefighters found and rescued 10 puppies huddled and whining next to the burning house. Two adult dogs, believed to be their parents, kept circling around the house engulfed in flames.

Among them, three puppies appeared to have burns with fur singed on their hips and backs. They were taken to an animal hospital.

Hello TV News Gangwon reported that among the 10 rescued puppies, the three with burns on their hips, tails, and backs were too young and severely burned, and a decision was made to euthanize them. The remaining puppies were temporarily cared for by a neighboring resident.

The neighbor said, "The mother dog is not producing milk, so she is feeding the approximately one-month-old puppies milk directly and taking care of them."
