The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will conduct a comprehensive inspection of 'Good Price Businesses' until the 7th of next month to promote the containment of rising prices. Good Price Businesses are establishments that offer services at prices lower than the regional average, contributing to the stabilization of local prices.
Suwon City designates these businesses by comprehensively evaluating major product prices, whether prices have been reduced or frozen, cleanliness and hygiene management, and compliance with outdoor price display policies, targeting the food service and personal service industries.
During the inspection period, Suwon City will check the eligibility of 47 existing Good Price Businesses and re-designate them accordingly.
Additionally, Suwon City is recruiting new Good Price Businesses until the 16th of this month. Applicants can submit their business registration certificate and application form in person or by mail (including email) to the Regional Economy Division or the Economic and Transportation Divisions of each district office.
Once designated as a Good Price Business, establishments will receive a certification plaque, customized necessary supplies, and volume-based waste bags.
This year, incentives including national and provincial subsidies will be provided following the enactment of the 'Good Price Business Support Ordinance.'
Suwon City has selected 25 businesses to support menu replacement and disinfection services, and will also support card payment fees for small business owners with annual sales under 300 million KRW among local currency affiliated stores.
At the end of the year, Suwon City will select the 'Excellent Good Price Business of the Year' and award a plaque of commendation.
A Suwon City official stated, "Even amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting downturn in commercial districts, we will inspect Good Price Businesses that contribute to local prices by offering affordable prices and excellent services, and discover new ones to provide high-quality services to citizens and tourists."
