Samsung Welstory and Eco-friendly Golf Course Improvement Project
No Provision of Plastic Containers and Straws
Carpool Event for Visitors Also Held
Kakao VX announced on the 12th that it has improved the golf course 'Seragio GC,' which the company operates on consignment, into an eco-friendly golf course in collaboration with Samsung Welstory.
As part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, Kakao VX has been serving all beverages sold at Seragio GC in paper containers instead of the previously used plastic containers since last month. Plastic straws are no longer used and have been replaced with biodegradable starch straws. This initiative aims to eliminate plastic beverage containers and straw waste that typically end up in trash bins after rounds, considering the nature of the golf course.
Additionally, until the 30th of this month, a 'Tayotayo Carpool' event is being held to encourage carpooling among visitors to Seragio GC. This event was planned to change the habit of each person driving their own car to the golf course, which became common after COVID-19. Kakao VX provides golfers who visit Seragio GC with four people riding in one vehicle carrying four golf bags a coupon for four free coffee tastings, applicable to the first group on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Jung Ok-jin, Head of the Seragio Business Division at Kakao VX, said, "We will continue to review the entire golf course to reduce carbon emissions and strive to become a more eco-friendly golf course."
