George Soros's Son: "I Am More Political"... Announces Anti-Trump Support

Billionaire investor George Soros, known as the "legend of the hedge fund world," has handed over control of the $25 billion Open Society Foundations (OSF) to his son, Alexander Soros (Alex), who has officially stepped into the spotlight and stated, "I am more political." This signals that the Soros family's anti-Trump stance, backed by vast financial resources, is expected to continue ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

Alex, who was elected chairman of OSF last December, revealed this in his first interview with the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on the 11th (local time), saying he shares liberal goals with his father. At 37 years old, he said his views on major political issues are similar to George Soros's, adding, "I am more political (than my father)." He also explained that he plans to strengthen support for voting rights and abortion rights.

Describing himself as "center-left," Alex has recently met with officials from the Joe Biden administration, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Brazilian President Luiz In?cio Lula da Silva, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and others in relation to OSF activities. OSF provides $1.5 billion annually to organizations supporting human rights and democracy worldwide. The foundation's funds are also used for universities and educational institutions.

In particular, Alex expressed concern about the possibility of former President Donald Trump returning to the White House and predicted that the Soros family's organization will once again play a significant role in political funding during the 2024 election. He said, "We want to take money out of politics, but as long as the other side is involved in politics, we have to do the same."

Currently, Alex leads the super PAC (Political Action Committee) organized by his father, George Soros, to serve as a hub for presidential election funding, and he is the only member of the Soros family on the investment committee overseeing Soros Fund Management. According to Soros's side, most of the $25 billion will be allocated under OSF's jurisdiction over the coming years. Additionally, about $125 million has been designated for the super PAC.

George Soros, a Hungarian-American and Holocaust survivor, is a prominent political donor who has contributed billions to the Democratic Party to block the re-election of former President George W. Bush and the election of former President Donald Trump. He has publicly criticized Trump's actions multiple times. This is also why Trump and his associates, who were undergoing court indictments a few months ago, suddenly targeted George Soros in retaliation. WSJ reported that Soros's previous large-scale funding for criminal justice reform aimed at reducing racial bias and campaigns for local prosecutors also provoked the right-wing.
