Seongdong-gu Conducts Special Inspections of Road Excavation Sites Ahead of Full-Scale Rainy Season

Special Inspection of Road Excavation and Restoration Construction Sites from the 19th to the 30th to Prevent Safety Accidents

On-site guidance and correction for violations detected, with prosecution and fines imposed depending on the nature of the violation

Seongdong-gu (District Mayor Jeong Won-o) announced that from the 19th until the end of this month, a special inspection will be conducted on road excavation permit sections to ensure safety management of road construction before the full onset of the rainy season.

The district will focus the inspection on verifying compliance with road occupancy permits ahead of the rainy season.

The main inspection items include ▲placement of flaggers and installation of traffic guidance signs ▲separation of pedestrian routes for residents ▲installation of safety fences and wearing of protective gear ▲checking for road subsidence, damage, and unevenness.

Minor issues identified during the inspection will be addressed with on-site guidance and correction, while serious violations will be subject to prosecution and fines in accordance with relevant laws.

In addition to inspecting road construction sites, proactive inspections will be conducted on roads prone to safety accidents such as potholes or subsidence during the rainy season to prevent accidents.

Jeong Won-o, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "Safety management at construction sites is the most fundamental matter. Through this inspection, we aim to raise awareness among construction implementers and take strong measures against violations to prevent safety accidents and minimize inconvenience to residents."
