Additional Theft Charges of Mobile Phone Against Victimized Student
A doctor working at a large hospital in Seoul was arrested by the police for attempting to engage in prostitution with a teenage female student.
On the 10th, the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse and theft, and are investigating the details of the crime.
Mr. A is accused of attempting prostitution with a 13-year-old middle school girl, Ms. B, whom he met through a random chat app on his mobile phone, inside a car in a residential area of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, around midnight on the 6th. He is also suspected of stealing her mobile phone to prevent her from reporting the incident when she got out of the car.
After getting out of the car, Ms. B reportedly went to a nearby convenience store and asked an employee to report the incident. The police arrested Mr. A at his home four hours later after receiving the report of his escape.
During the investigation, the police also discovered circumstances suggesting that three other female students had connected Ms. B to Mr. A and were supposed to receive money, and they are looking into related matters.
