Wando-gun, Construction of Agricultural Specialty Products Distribution Center 'Expecting Consumption Activation'

‘Wando Jayeon Geudaero’ Agricultural Specialty Products Stable Shipping, Processing, and Distribution System Established

On the 8th, Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, held a completion ceremony for the Wando Nonghyup Agricultural Specialties Complex Distribution Center, a multifunctional space responsible for the shipment, processing, and distribution of 'Wando Nature As It Is' agricultural specialties, the county announced on the 10th.

The completion ceremony was attended by about 300 people, including Shin Woo-cheol, Wando County Governor, Yoon Jae-gap, National Assembly member, Heo Gung-hee, Chairman of Wando County Council, county council members, social and institutional leaders, and farmers. The event included a project progress report, presentation of plaques of appreciation, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The 'Wando Nonghyup Complex Distribution Center' was selected in 2021 as part of the Balanced National Development Project under the 'Rural Resources Complex Support Project.' With a total project cost of 2 billion KRW (1 billion KRW from the national government, 500 million KRW from the county, and 500 million KRW self-funded), the center was built on a 4,241㎡ site in the Jukcheong-ri Industrial Complex, Wando-eup, equipped with a complex distribution center, cold storage, and office building.

Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, "I hope the Agricultural Specialties Complex Distribution Center will play a pivotal role in expanding sales channels for agricultural specialties through the establishment of a systematic and stable distribution network." He added, "The county will work with Wando Nonghyup to ensure thorough quality control so that safer and fresher agricultural specialties reach the national dining table and to further enhance trust in 'Wando Nature As It Is Agricultural Specialties.'"

Kim Mi-nam, Chairman of Wando Nonghyup, stated, "The distribution center will serve as a representative production area distribution organization of Wando, expanding the handling of agricultural products produced by natural farming methods and establishing storage and commercialization facilities to contribute to increasing farmers' income." He also said, "We will realize the branding of Wando agricultural specialties."
