On Sunday the 11th, rain will fall in the central region between dawn and morning, and from the afternoon, scattered showers will pour in various inland areas.
The rain occurs as our country is influenced by a pressure trough passing to the north and then enters the edge of a high-pressure system near the Shandong Peninsula in China. After precipitation caused by the pressure trough, the atmosphere becomes unstable, leading to showers.
The Seoul metropolitan area and Chungcheong are expected to receive about 10 to 60 mm of rain from the 10th until the morning of the 11th. Especially in the Seoul metropolitan area, some places will see rainfall exceeding 70 mm.
Expected rainfall amounts for Gangwon, Jeonbuk, inland Gyeongbuk, the five western islands, and northwestern inland Gyeongnam are 5 to 40 mm and 5 to 20 mm, respectively.
Showers expected from the afternoon of the 11th are anticipated to bring 5 to 60 mm of rain.
The rain over the weekend will temporarily reach an intensity of '30 mm or more per hour' at times.
As heavy rain pours in a short time, valleys and rivers may swell rapidly, so caution is necessary. Even if parked in underground parking lots, preparations against flooding should be made.
During the heavy rain this weekend, gusts of wind around 70 km/h (20 m/s) will blow in the surrounding areas, accompanied by thunder and lightning. Hail may also fall.
Weekend temperatures will be similar to those on the 9th. On the morning of the 10th, the lowest temperatures will be between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius, and the highest daytime temperatures will range from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius. Expected minimum and maximum temperatures in major cities are Seoul 19°C and 28°C, Incheon 19°C and 25°C, Daejeon 19°C and 30°C, Gwangju 20°C and 31°C, Daegu 19°C and 31°C, Ulsan 17°C and 28°C, and Busan 19°C and 26°C.
On the morning of the 11th, the lowest temperatures are expected to be between 16 and 21 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs ranging from 22 to 29 degrees Celsius.
From the 10th, swells will flow into the Jeju coast, causing waves high enough to overflow rocky shores and breakwaters. Sea fog will persist for a while over the West Sea, South Sea, and Jeju Sea, and weekend gusts with thunder and lightning will occur over the West Sea and East Sea.
