Neowiz's highly anticipated console game 'P-ui Geojit' is set to launch this September. Attention is focused on whether it can succeed in the global console market, which is almost a barren land for Korean developers.
On the 9th, Neowiz held a media showcase for the new title 'P-ui Geojit' at the Chosun Palace Seoul Gangnam. 'P-ui Geojit' is an action role-playing game (RPG) based on the classic fairy tale Pinocchio. Last year, it made a mark by winning three awards at Gamescom, Europe's largest game show, becoming the first Korean console game to achieve this feat.
Winning at Gamescom, one of the world's top three game shows, not only recognizes the game's quality but also raises expectations for commercial success. Last year, Japan's FromSoftware's 'Elden Ring,' which was named the "Most Anticipated PlayStation Game," has sold over 17 million copies globally since its release, gaining huge popularity.

The development team also expressed confidence. Park Sung-jun, studio head of Round8 Studio, a Neowiz subsidiary, said, "Since this is our first single-player console game release, predictions are difficult, but our global partners have expectations similar to our market forecasts." In the securities industry, 'P-ui Geojit' is expected to sell 2 to 3 million copies per quarter in its initial release period.
The global official release date is September 19. It will be available on PlayStation (PS) 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC platform Steam. The digital price is 64,800 KRW for the Standard Edition and 74,800 KRW for the Deluxe Edition. The official offline package price is 64,800 KRW. The official limited edition price will be announced in August.
Publishing in the Asian region is handled by Shinsegae I&C. With extensive experience in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, Shinsegae I&C will conduct localized marketing. Discussions with other global partners are ongoing for North America and Europe.
On this day, Neowiz introduced for the first time through a new trailer video the elegant chanson background music (BGM) contrasting with dazzling battles, the ruined 'Krat City,' the 'Gold Coin Tree,' and the 'Shark Submarine,' inspired by the original novel. Based on the most commonly used graphics card on Steam, the GeForce GTX 1060, players can enjoy 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution with 'Medium' graphic quality. On the GTX 1080, smooth gameplay is possible at 114 frames per second, and the PC specifications allow smooth operation even at 4K resolution.
A demo experience will be available ahead of the official release, from today until the 27th. The demo version introduces 'Chapter 1,' which serves as an introduction to the 'P-ui Geojit' universe, and the 'Lie System,' allowing users to experience up to 'Chapter 2.'
Choi Ji-won, the overall director of 'P-ui Geojit,' emphasized, "I am confident that players will feel a distinctive fun in combat play," adding, "It will be a source of pride that a console masterpiece can come from Korea."
