Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 9th that it will conduct the ‘God of Business Academy for Seo-gu Owners’ to support small business owners facing difficulties such as decreased sales due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and economic downturn.
This academy has been receiving numerous inquiries from small business owners even before its opening, with consultant Kim Yujin participating as the instructor.
Kim Yujin, a former PD at MBC Entertainment Department and a food program verification team member as well as the chief consultant for food and beverage at the National Museum of Korea, is the author of ‘Korean-style God of Business’ and ‘Business is Strategy.’
Her customized consulting for traditional markets, local specialties, and individual restaurants has led to actual sales increases and job creation, earning her the nickname ‘God of Business.’
Through this academy, Seo-gu plans to provide qualitative and quantitative growth innovation education to about 40 small business owners and self-employed individuals who have business establishments within the district.
The course will run for two months from the 22nd of this month to August 18th, during which Kim Yujin will deliver eight lectures covering ‘Secrets to Business Success,’ including strategies to enhance product value to maximize sales and profits, and promotional marketing to persuade consumers.
Outstanding graduates will receive additional points when applying for various support projects promoted by Seo-gu, such as the Hope Guide Project (support for business facility improvement and promotional marketing), and will be offered opportunities to participate as mentors in the alleyway commercial district mentoring project and to promote their businesses through the SNS supporters group.
Additionally, the Seo-gu Small Business Management Support Center will facilitate network building among participants and provide continuous management and monitoring to encourage steady sales growth for small business owners, thereby revitalizing the alleyway commercial districts and the local economy.
Mayor Kim Ikang of Seo-gu said, “A survey conducted last year targeting small business owners and self-employed individuals showed that ‘business strategy education’ was the most urgently needed to increase sales. We hope that with management strategies reflecting diversified consumer tendencies after COVID-19, small business owners will recover and the alleyway commercial districts will regain vitality.”
Applications for the academy can be submitted online or via email by downloading the application form and personal information consent form from the Seo-gu Office website’s notices and announcements section by the 13th.
