Choo Kyung-ho "Continued Financial Support for Complete Recovery of Small Business Owners"

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho is listening to the difficulties and suggestions of small business owners before the budget formulation during a meeting with the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business on the afternoon of the 9th at the Government Seoul Office in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho met with the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise on the 9th and stated, "We plan to actively support strengthening the competitiveness of small business owners when drafting next year's budget."

On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Choo held a meeting with Oh Se-hee, the representative of the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise, in Seoul and made these remarks.

Deputy Prime Minister Choo said, "Although indicators such as increased card sales by small business owners and a rise in the perceived BSI (Business Survey Index) show significant recovery from the COVID-19 shock, uncertainties remain in business operations. Therefore, we will prioritize the complete recovery of small business owners in our policies and continue active fiscal support."

Oh Se-hee, president of the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise, said, "Despite the government's support policies so far, many small business owners still face challenging business environments," and suggested "reducing the burden of public utility charges such as electricity and gas fees, strengthening education and training for small business owners, and preparing measures to promote sales for small business owners."

The Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise is a statutory organization established in 2014 under the Act on the Protection and Support of Small Business Owners to represent the rights and interests of small business owners. It consists of approximately 610,000 members across 56 industries.
