Asia's Leading Metaverse Exhibition '2023 Metaverse Expo' Set to Open Soon

The opening of Asia's leading metaverse specialized exhibition and summit, the '2023 Metaverse Expo' and the '2023 Metaverse + Generative AI Summit,' is just one week away. The event will be held for three days from Wednesday, June 14 to Friday, June 16 at COEX Hall C in Seoul, marking its 6th edition this year.

This exhibition is generating excitement even before its opening by expanding its scope to include metanomics company cases built on various business models, focusing on metaverse platforms, software, and devices, as well as digital twins, future education, NFTs, and blockchain technologies.

Notably, this year, major players such as Apple, Meta, Samsung Electronics, and Google have entered the metaverse device market, releasing new XR devices like the 'Vision Pro' and 'Quest 3.' This acts as a new catalyst for the metaverse ecosystem, increasing interest in the industry’s representative exhibition, the 'Metaverse Expo.'

This year’s exhibition features leading companies such as 'Caliburs,' a subsidiary of Lotte Data Communication Company offering immersive metaverse experiences; 'Dimoa,' a partner of Unity specializing in 3D content creation software; and 'Medical IP,' a medical AI solution company based on digital twin technology, allowing visitors to explore metaverse software, platforms, and solutions.

Additionally, 'KCIM,' a Microsoft partner, will showcase HoloLens 2, and visitors can also experience VR and AR devices from prominent global IT companies such as HTC Vive’s MR/AR headset XR Elite and PICO’s HMD device 'PICO 4.'

Moreover, the exhibition will present various technologies integrated with the metaverse, including NFTs, blockchain, AI, and hardware.

The '2023 Metaverse + Generative AI Summit,' held concurrently with the main event, will take place over three days in the conference hall within the exhibition venue, focusing on themes such as metaverse, generative AI, Web 3.0, blockchain, and metanomics.

On Wednesday, June 14, the theme is 'New Internet Philosophy Web 3.0, The Future Created by the New Internet Experience Metaverse.' Kang Do-hyun, Director of the Information and Communication Policy Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT, will present South Korea’s metaverse policy direction, and Lee Seung-hwan, Senior Researcher at the Convergence SW Research Lab of the Software Policy Research Institute, will explain GPT-applied metaverse. Additionally, lectures on Web 3.0 will be given by representatives from LG CNS, Samsung Electronics, and others.

On Thursday, June 15, the theme is 'Metanomics, The Ultimate Fusion System of Reality and Virtual Worlds.' Dena Feldman, Director of Meta’s Reality Labs Policy, will lecture on the metaverse outlook in the Asia-Pacific region. Kim Dong-gyu, CEO of Caliburs, will present an ultra-realistic metaverse platform, and Bae Soon-min, Executive Director of KT Convergence Technology Institute’s AI2XL Lab, will discuss changes generative AI will bring to the metaverse. Presentations from Unity Korea, The Sandbox Korea, and others will cover virtual economic activities and business strategies based on the metaverse.

On the final day, Friday, June 16, presentations will continue under the theme 'GPT, The Evolution of Generative AI That Will Change Life, Work, and Thinking.' Lee Geon-bok, Executive Director at Microsoft, will speak about large-scale AI, and IT expert Kim Ji-hyun, a tech writer, will discuss the business ecosystem that ChatGPT will bring. Lectures from LG U+ and Naver Cloud will also explore generative AI services and business models.

In addition, showcases such as 'New Product Launches' and 'Open Seminars' will be held, allowing attendees to hear firsthand from participating companies. Various events, including business days like export and investment consultation meetings in collaboration with KOTRA and curated tours held daily from 2 PM, are also planned.

Discounts are available for early registration by June 13 for the '2023 Metaverse Expo' and '2023 Metaverse + Generative AI Summit.' For more details, please refer to the official website or contact the secretariat.
